If you are seeing a message about your connection not being private or similar when going to a local web UI on a gateway, router or modem at: http://192.168.0.1, http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.100.1 this is normal and expected, as the devices use self-signed certs without a certificate authority to secure their connection.

If you're using Chrome as your browser, the message will say, "Your connection is not private", from there you will click on the bottom left "advanced" button, then click "proceed to 192.168.1.1". If you're using Firefox as your browser, the message will say, "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead", from there you will click on the bottom right "Advanced.." button, then click on the bottom right, "Accept the risk and Continue" button. Note: Your connection will still be encrypted and protected by the self-signed certificate on the router or gateway you're connecting to. A self-signed certificate's authenticity can't be verified.

If you're using Safari as your browser, the message will say "This Connection Is Not Private", from there you will click the highlighted area below, 'visit this website'.
