How do I connect other devices to my Motorola MG7310 Gateway Router using wireless?

A Wi-Fi compatible device such as a computer, smartphone, tablet, smart TV, game console, or security camera can access the Internet wirelessly through the Motorola MG7310 Cable Modem/Router. Here’s how to make a wireless connection:

  1. Locate Wireless Setup on Your Device:
    • Find and open the wireless connection setup on your device.
  2. Select the Wireless Network Name (SSID):
    • Choose the default Wireless Network Name (SSID) displayed on the bottom of your cable modem/router. If you've changed the name, select the one you assigned.
  3. Enter the Wireless Security Key or Password:
    • You will be prompted to enter the Wireless Security Key or Password for your wireless network. The default WPA2 security key is printed on the label located on the bottom of your Cable Modem/Router. If you've changed the security key, use your updated password. Example: image
  4. Test Your Wireless Setup:
    • Open your device’s web browser and navigate to a website to verify if your wireless connection is working correctly. If successful, congratulations!
  5. Note on Security Settings:
    • Some older devices like laptops running Vista or XP, and certain gaming consoles, may not support the default WPA2 security of your device. These devices typically require WEP security. If you need to change the security settings, refer to your cable modem’s manual for detailed instructions.

By following these steps, you can easily connect various devices to your Motorola MG7310 Cable Modem/Router wirelessly, allowing them to access the Internet seamlessly within your home network.
