Most of the Motorola cable modems have the same interface once you login to the modem.
(MG7310, MG7315, MG7540, MG7550, MG7700, MT7711)
All Motorola modems come with a default WiFi Name and Password, known as the SSID and Security Key.
They are printed on the sticker on the bottom of the modem. If you have a modem that has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless bands, you will see them on the sticker.
Both the WiFi name and Security key are unique to the modem and allow you securely connect to the unit. If you would like to personalize this information, follow the steps below.
Note: Changing the WiFi network name and Security key will cause all current WiFi devices on your network to lose connection. You will need to go to all devices and connect them to the new WiFi name using the new password.
Changing the WiFi Name & Password:
1. Open up a web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc).
2. In the address bar of your web browser, type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 and press Enter. (You will see the "Modem Login" IP address on your sticker).
3. You will be directed to a Login page.
Type "admin" for the Username, and type "motorola" for the Password, then click Login
4. Once you login, you will see the Basic Status and Settings page.
Under Wi-Fi Privacy Settings, you can now change the Network Name and Password
***NOTE: If your device is not dual band (with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, you will only see one Wi-Fi network name and password to change).*
TO CHANGE THE NETWORK NAME AND PASSWORD:
Under Wi-Fi Privacy Settings:
If you have a dual-band modem with both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz wireless, they both will appear here and you can name them different network names (SSID).
If you have a single-band modem with only a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, there will only be one Network name and password to change.
1. Place a check mark in the box to Show Key, and allow the page to reload
